Angus is one of few practitioners today with experience of large-scale initiatives simultaneously involving merger integration, culture change and employee engagement, all at enterprise scale.
He consulted to the Prudential in the critical period in its history when the enterprise was growing by merger and transforming from a mutual life insurer into a publicly traded financial services conglomerate. Simultaneously with the culture change demanded by its transformation, the client was challenged to assimilate the businesses it had acquired, including ranks of executives and managers with differing cultures and ways of working. Angus had a leading role in the design, delivery and execution of a successful two-year rolling operation to unify the cultures and bring the new people into one company. The work touched thousands of employees in the enterprise’s constituent operations across the US.
Angus also consulted to Lucent Technologies’ EMEA operation as it worked to integrate acquired businesses across divergent cultures of Europe and the Middle East and built a common sales platform. Recently, his clients have included major international commercial banks and an energy utility.
Angus holds a BA from Oxford University and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of business, where he was a teaching fellow. He is a qualified facilitator. Prior to his career in enterprise transformation, Angus worked in the institutional fixed income markets in Tokyo and London for Morgan Stanley and as a strategy consultant for EY Parthenon in New York and Boston.
